Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. The actress is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will be released as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who produced Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment hearings in over one century. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Born and raised in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
